Greiner Consulting Services has announced the release of a new plug-in titled, CopyFILE™. The CopyFILE™ plug-in is designed for use with Acrobat® PDF files. The CopyFILE™ plug-in is used to create a link action providing the ability to associate other content files to be made available for download by a user directly from a CopyFILE™ enabled link inside a PDF. Integrate existing technical content by creating a CopyFILE™ link on a PDF page and assign the link an action to copy or download one or more files to the users system.
Add value to your current PDF library by integrating existing external technical content or other relevant files associated with information contained inside a PDF file. The CopyFILE™ plug-in is designed to help distribute either a single file or up to three additional files from a link on a PDF page.
The CopyFILE™ plug-in consists of an authoring component and a user component. The CopyFILE™ authoring component is a plug-in supported by using Adobe® Acrobat® Standard or Professional v6.x or above and allows CopyFILE™ links to be created using the standard Acrobat® LinkTool. The user component is Reader-enabled and allows for the CopyFILE™ link action to be recognized and displays a dialog box offering the user the ability to select one or more files to be copied or downloaded.
With the release of the CopyFILE™ plug-in, producers of PDF files, including technical publications groups within an organization, catalog developers, designers or publishers, can quickly and effectively integrate additional product information or technical content, such as CAD details, charts, graphs, engineering data, etc, with information found within an Acrobat® PDF file and make available for download direct from the PDF itself.
